----------------
Lovers of Light (LoL) is a lighting industry panel point/counter point debate tackling important lighting topics in a lighthearted gameshow format. This session will be the square off between 6 contestants. The contestants will consist of manufacturers, designers and sales representatives and be paired prior to the show to select their topic of debate. Typical topics include: Light and Health - the new future of lighting or still too early; Dark Sky – Do dark sky design requirements create a better outdoor design; credentials – do they matter? Each one of the pair will have 2 minutes to address their side of the topic. After the debate, the other contestants will provide a 1-minute comment then select who they agree with, providing a point to the contestant. The topic will then be thrown to the audience for them to weigh in on the topic. After a 5-minute audience participation session, an applause-o-meter will be used to select which side they agree with along with 5 points. This sequence will happen for each pair. A lightning round will follow with similar sequence but randomized topics and shorter response times. As previously mentioned, this can be a bunch of fun but get some serious dialog going on the industry hot topics.
  • Gain insight into both pro and con sides of 6 topics relating to the lighting industry.
  • Audience will have the opportunity to participate in the debate by voting and or commenting on the debate topics.
  • Topics will include both technical and business-related items. The debate will help the audience form opinions on technology related to products and specifications and develop strategies to help grow their business.
  • Audience will gain insight on topics from a cross channel perspective with the panel consisting of Manufacturers, Specifiers and independent sales agents.
